This author interview is with Ruth Cardello!
Ok, what can I not say about Ruth? I know her from AQC and she’s a successful self-published author. When I say successful, I mean she made it on the New York Time’s bestselling list! This lady did all her own marketing and publishing and make it to the top. She is everything I strive to be one day; her achievements are my motivation.
1 – What is the name of your current book to be published/is published?
Bedding the Billionaire is the most recent book in my Legacy Series.
2 – Can you give us a little blurb of the story of your book?
Book 3: Bedding the Billionaire (Legacy Collection)
Lil Dartley’s life is upside down. Her previously steadfast and predictable sister is marrying an influential billionaire and needs help planning the wedding of the century in less than a month. Years of middle class rebellion have not prepared Lil for handling billionaires or paparazzi.
Jake Walton knows a train wreck when he sees one. Lil was trouble from the first day he met her, but since her sister is marrying his best friend, he has no choice but to help her or this wedding will be in the news for all the wrong reasons. Keeping Lil safe would be a whole lot easier if she didn’t drive him crazy both in and out of the bedroom.
3 – When did you start writing and has it always been your passion?
I’ve always loved writing. I always had a notepad with me as a child and loved creating new worlds and characters. Several years ago, I wrote my first complete book with joyful ignorance of the rules of craft and I don’t regret the time I put into it. Very few people write a fantastic first book, but if you don’t write that first book you will never write all of the amazing books that are possible if you keep honing your craft.
4 – Is this your first book? Or have you written others?
I wrote two books prior to the Legacy Series. One was a sci-fi romance, the other was a cowboy romance. There is a good chance neither will ever see the light of day.
5 – What is the genre of your book? Are you going to follow the same genre with later books?
Bedding the Billionaire is a contemporary romance. Contemporary romance is where I will very likely stay for a long time.
6 – What do you like to do in your spare time (other than writing)?
I’m a mother of three so I’m pretty busy outside of writing, but I also enjoy riding my horses and traveling.
7 – What is some good advice for new writers striving to be in your place?
Do not give up. Keep learning. Keep writing. Keep reaching. There isn’t a secret recipe. Do not underestimate the power of perseverance and positivity.
8 – Do you ever get writer’s block? And if yes, how do you fix that problem?
When I hit a tough spot, I close my laptop and come back to it the next day. Sometimes I even throw out what I wrote the day before. Usually I discover that I wrote myself into a scene that didn’t belong in the book and that’s why I didn’t know where to go next.
9 – Which character from a book do you most relate to, if any? And why?
I think Lil is the closest to my real personality. She has good intentions and things often work out for the best, but oh the adventures she has along way!
10 – And finally, where do you envision yourself five years from now?
I would like to still be writing full-time and be working on a new series. Lately I’ve been dreaming of Greek billionaires!
And that’s it folks! I just want to let my followers know I read her first book and loved it. I would like to thank Ruth again for doing this interview with me.
